A stone-paved road, a thousand years of Ciqikou. In the height of summer, the mountain city of Chongqing came alive. On July 26–27, the 2025 “War Horse Cup” New Energy Off-Road Motorcycle Urban Obstacle Race, guided by the Chongqing Municipal Social Sports Instruction Center, organized by the Chongqing Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Association, and title-sponsored by War Horse Energy Drink, concluded successfully in Ciqikou, Shapingba District.
As the first dedicated new energy off-road motorcycle competition in China, this emerging event invited off-road motorcycle teams and riders from across the country. The race exclusively featured domestically developed new energy off-road motorcycles, with separate categories for lightweight, medium, and women’s divisions. It drew enthusiastic participation from both motorcycle fans and professional riders. Compared with traditional off-road models, new energy motorcycles offer unique advantages such as low noise and zero emissions—perfectly aligning with China’s green, low-carbon development goals and leading the way for the sustainable future of motorsports.
The race made full use of Chongqing’s unique urban landscape, incorporating the city’s signature narrow alleys and stairways into classic off-road segments. Competitors, battling the summer heat, relied on both strength and skill to control the bike’s sway, while maintaining intense focus to adapt to changing course conditions—navigating sharp right-angle turns on steep staircases and overcoming obstacles hidden within dense underbush trails at fast speed.
After two days of qualifying and timed races, Song Xuejian, Yang Xiaojie, and Yuan Ruiqi claimed the championship titles in their respective categories.
A number of participants at this event expressed that, in Chongqing’s sweltering competition environment, energy drinks like War Horse are essential. As the title sponsor, War Horse has formed a deep integration with the event—not only providing continuous energy support to all athletes throughout, but also collaborating with the organizers to launch an in-event challenge: the "Dragon Gate Leap" electric motorcycle challenge. Held at the iconic Yinglongmen archway in Ciqikou—an area renowned for its unique topography—this challenge marks a pioneering milestone in China: the first-ever use of a new-energy off-road motorcycle to execute a short-acceleration, long-distance, high-gradient aerial jump, showcasing groundbreaking innovation.
Located adjacent to the Jialing River, Yinglongmen was historically a vital trade and cargo hub, serving as the gateway to the ancient town and enduring numerous floods over the centuries. The challenge presented extreme spatial constraints: riders had less than 10 meters to accelerate, then launch up a series of 45-degree ascending steps from the riverbank. The motorcycle would then soar through the air, reaching a maximum height of 9 meters above ground and covering a horizontal distance of up to 30 meters—a trajectory that, aside from these basic geographical parameters, offered no other reliable data for planning or execution. With the above, the "Dragon Gate Leap" was a challenge with high difficulty and significant unknowns. On the morning of the 27th, the fully-ready riders attempted the jump multiple times. Ultimately, Pu Yang, a professional rider from Chongqing, successfully cleared the steps and soared through the Dragon Gate, claiming the championship.
The War Horse "Dragon Gate Leap" Challenge not only elevated the event’s excitement, but also rigorously tested the performance of domestically developed vehicles and the skill of Chinese riders. More importantly, through this highly innovative and visually stunning feat, War Horse vividly embodied its brand spirit—a reflection of its long-term commitment to sports, support for the development of Chinese athletic competition, and encouragement for young people to boldly challenge their limits. As a tangible representation of "energy," War Horse’s synergy with extreme sports like off-road racing runs deep. The product’s core function—rapid energy replenishment—is a critical necessity in such high-intensity challenges, while the spirit of pursuit, breakthrough, and pushing boundaries perfectly mirrors the intrinsic energy the brand represents.
By blending a popular tourist destination with dynamic sports culture, this new competitive format has delivered a fresh experience for visitors and participants from across the country. It stands as a successful case study in advancing the integrated development of culture, sports, and tourism at the local level.
War Horse has consistently stayed close to consumer needs, continuously exploring new formats and content to engage with younger generations. Through action, the brand expresses its warmth and empowers their passion. Moving forward,War Horse will continue to stand with youth—supporting their dreams, empowering self-breakthroughs, and promoting positive energy.
